An affiliate is an independent publisher — a comparison site, content portal, streamer or media brand — that refers players to a licensed operator and is paid commission for the traffic it delivers. Payment is usually structured as revenue share, CPA or a hybrid of the two, tracked through a unique link.
Affiliates sit outside the operator's own marketing team but are still bound by the operator's licence conditions in most regulated markets, meaning advertising standards, responsible gambling messaging and territory restrictions apply to them as well.
